Eclipse

Searching made easy by Eclipse ADT

Imagine having a long day at work and you are coding an ABAP program (in SAP GUI editor) for many hours. You yearn for a break but want to finish the program first. Suddenly you recall, you can have written a similar logic in some other program – maybe a couple of years back. You are not sure whether you remember the name yet – maybe you do. Let’s try.

You opened in SE37 and tried to search for the program. You tried multiple combinations with wild characters search but could not find it. Cursed your memory but still puzzled – that it should appear in “that” extremely wide search. And then you notice you are searching in SE37. Some swearing follows.

I have been there. Not a pleasant situation. Eclipse make it easy to search. Just click – Control + Shit + A. Enter your filtering criteria in search and it will fetch all objects. Now, how about that.

As you can see in the above picture, it finds different objects and it is extremely fast.
