SAP Screen Personas – Understanding Inspector tool

Inspector tool is your second best friend after “recording” when you are writing custom scripts and especially if you are not from javascript background.

Inspector tool can help you to identify the name of the element and also shows you list of properties of that element. Please note, please stop the recording before you start using the Inspector tool.

Let’s see where can find the Inspector tool and how we use it. Go to script editor.

In the inspector tab, click on the “Object selector”.

Now you can select any object and it will list its properties. Suppose we click on the input field in the flavor.

When you find the required property (either by scrolling the list or by filter), click on it and it will appear in the script editor.

We learn several of these properties as we do the complex examples in the scripts.
