CDS Annotations

CDS: UI Annotations – Hide Columns

Annotations enrich the CDS views but can be confusing as well. These series of blogs have my simplified explanation.

All Fiori Elements apps are responsive in nature ie, they can be viewed from any device – mobile, tablets and desktops. No programming or annotations are required. But apps being responsive is not enough. Sometimes if the screen size is too small, the full report shows but it is just to hard to read or browse. But in consumption view, we can add some annotations which will show or hide some columns depending on screen size.

All the annotations in this blog are field level annotations.

@UI.lineItem.importance: and possible values are #HIGH, #MEDIUM and #LOW

@UI.lineItem.importance: #HIGH  "Report will show this column in all devices
@UI.lineItem.importance: #MEDIUM  "Report will show this column only in laptop and tablets
@UI.lineItem.importance: #LOW   "Report will show this column only in desktops

Some columns which are present in the consumption view but are not shown in the report but user can select them. If you want restrict some columns to be shown in the report completely then you can use

@UI.hidden: true
